International Conference on Sustainable Biofuels to begin in New DelhiA two- day International Conference on Sustainable Biofuels organized by Department of Biotechnology on behalf of Mission Innovation and Biofuture Platform to begin in New Delhi.

Union Minister for Science and technology Dr. Harsh Vardhan will inaugurate the Conference.

More than 300 participants with representatives from 18 countries will be attending it.

This event aims to provide a common platform to Government policy makers, industry, investors and research community to exchange experiences and challenges related to development and scaling of advance biofuels.

Gymnast Aruna becomes 1st Indian to win World Cup medalAruna Budda Reddy has created history by becoming the first Indian to win an individual medal at the Gymnastics World Cup in Melbourne, Australia. She clinched a Bronze medal in the Women’s Vault.

The 22-year-old Reddy, who hails from Hyderabad, scored 13.649 average points to win the bronze at the Hisense Arena.

Tjasa Kysslef of Slovenia won the gold with a score of 13.800 while Emily Whitehead of Australia took the silver with 13.699.

The Run for New India marathon was flagged off from the Lalbhai Contractor Stadium of the city. The Marathon is aimed at creating awareness about social causes and call upon all to resolve to build a New India.

The Marathon is divided into 4 categories which included 41 KM full marathon.

Around 1.50 lakh runners participated in the ‘Run for New India’ marathon which was organized by the Surat Nagrik Samiti.

5. Andaman and Nicobar Command to host Milan 2018

Andaman and Nicobar Command to host Milan 2018The second week of March will witness Andaman and Nicobar Command hosting a multinational mega event ‘Milan 2018’.

The Indian Navy will host the multinational MILAN series of exercises at Port Blair in Andaman and Nicobar islands from March 6 to March 13, 2018.

Under the aegis of the Andaman and Nicobar Command, it is being held at Port Blair with the underlying theme of ‘Friendship Across the Seas’.

Milan made modest beginnings more than two decades ago when it was first held in 1995. The first edition saw the participation of four littoral navies.

Milan will witness a diverse mix of professional exercises and seminars, social events and sporting fixtures.

PM also distributed cycles to school going girls under Saraswati Cycle Yojna, extended loans under ‘Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojna and Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana to beneficiaries.

The PM also distributed permits for CNG has driven public transport vehicles for a cleaner environment in Daman.
