1. 44th Khajuraho Dance Festival Held In Madhya Pradesh
The week-long Khajuraho dance festival began at the UNESCO world heritage site in a glittering ceremony. Governor of Madhya Pradesh Anandiben Patel inaugurated the 44th edition of the festival by lighting the traditional lamp.
The Dance Festival from February 20-26 at the temple town in Chhatarpur district – being organised by the culture department of the Madhya Pradesh government.

2. Aditya Birla Idea Payments Bank starts operations
Aditya Birla Idea Payments Bank Ltd (ABIPBL) started operations, making it the fifth payments bank to roll out operations after the central bank gave its in-principle approval to 11 applicants in August 2015.
The Reserve Bank has issued a licence to the bank under Section 22 (1) of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 to carry on the business of payments bank in India.
The other payments banks that have started operations include Airtel Payments Bank Ltd, India Post Payments Bank Ltd, Paytm Payments Bank Ltd and Fino Payments Bank Ltd.

3. Assam to observe ‘Rhino Day’ on September 22
The Assam government to be observing September 22 as ‘Rhino Day’ to generate public awareness on the protection of the one-horned pachyderm.
A day dedicated to the approximately 2500 rhino population in the state will be a tribute to the rhinoceros.
A State Rhino Project in line with National Rhino Project will be launched in Assam soon for protecting the pachyderms from threats of poaching

4. Narendra Modi inaugurates “Amma two wheeler” scheme in Chennai
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurates Tamil Nadu Government’s subsidized Amma two-wheeler scheme for women and differently abled beneficiaries in Chennai on Late Chief Minister Jayalalithaa’s birth anniversary.
The scheme, with the objective of enhancing the livelihood of working women, aims to provide subsidised two-wheelers to women, transgenders and differently-abled persons.
Nearly 23,000 beneficiaries have registered for the scheme, which provides subsidies ranging up to 50 percent of the cost of the vehicle.

5. DRDO successfully carries out test flight of Rustom-2 drone
Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has successfully flown it’s Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle Rustom 2 in Karnataka.
India at present depends on America and Israel for such predator drones. DRDO is developing within India a medium-altitude long-endurance unmanned aerial vehicle RUSTOM 2.
It has the capability to fly for 24 hours at a stretch at over 200 kilometres per hour speed, and can, not only conduct sustained surveillance but will be able to destroy enemy targets.

6. National conference on e-Governance to be held in Hyderabad
The 21st national conference on e-Governance to be held in Hyderabad. The government of India and Telangana Administrative Reforms department are jointly organising the conference with the main theme around- technology for accelerating development.
The two-day conference to deliberate on several aspects of the e-governance including its universalization and replication, governing e-governance, best practices, emerging technologies and synergising role of national and state governments.
Over 800 delegates from all over the country are likely to attend the conference.
